Beyond Borders / 10th edition

Beyond Borders is an International Documentary Festival held annually in Kastellorizo, showcasing a curated selection of documentaries from around the world. For the 10th anniversary edition of Beyond Borders, a visual identity was developed with memory as a structural element of storytelling. The starting point was The Weavers (1905) by the Manaki brothers, one of the earliest examples of social documentation through moving images in the Greek and Balkan context.

Weaving is used as both a conceptual and formal reference. The identity is structured through repetition, layering, and subtle distortions, reflecting the gradual construction of narrative and image.

The color palette consists of intense, clean colors, situating the identity in a contemporary visual context. Typography remains simple and modern, functioning as a stable system that ensures clarity and consistency. The identity was designed as a flexible visual system, adaptable across print, digital, and spatial applications, maintaining a coherent graphic language at all scales.
